The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Career Services Centre in collaboration with the KNUST International Programmes Office (IPO) held a meeting with representatives from Carleton University, Ontario, Canada on Friday, 24th February 2023 at the College of Engineering Board Room.
The purpose of the meeting, according to Mrs. Selina Angmor, the Director of the KNUST Career Services Centre, was to explore potential areas of partnership that would benefit students from both universities and also provide students with the necessary support and opportunities to enhance their career development.
Mrs. Angmor disclosed that the partnership will establish a platform that provides internship opportunities for Ghanaian students to get exposed to Canada through exchange programmes. She further noted that the partnership between KNUST and Carleton University will facilitate the exchange and sharing of research knowledge, including the possibility of remote work opportunities for Ghanaian/Canadian students and alumni of both universities.
The Dean of Carleton University’s School of Business, Professor Dana Brown, on behalf of the team, expressed enthusiasm for the academic activity and hoped for a fruitful collaboration that will greatly benefit both institutions.
Also present at the meeting were Professor Isaac Otchere, Carleton School of Business, Mawuena Torkornoo, Manager of External Relations; and Professor Daniel Y. A. Duah, the Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) at KNUST.
